Communication
At St Winifred's we operate a policy of open access and any parent should be able to speak to staff at the beginning and end of school every day. This may not always be practical so parents and staff can communicate in the following ways:
Diaries
Every child in the school and Nursery has a diary which makes it easy to transfer messages to and from home. Staff check Nursery, Reception, Form 1 & Form 2 diaries every day, whilst Upper School pupils are asked to show their Form or Subject teachers any messages from home. This is part of their development to take charge of their learning. A written reply or staffs initials will indicate if the message has been received.
Upper School pupils should write any homework requirements into this diary as well.
Email is a very effective way to communicate with the School. Emails directed to the School office are read throughout the day and responded to quickly.
Parents' evenings
Parents' evenings are held one each term.
Meetings
All staff are happy to meet with parents any time outside of parents' evenings. Appointments can be made through the School office.
Reports are emailed twice a year and exam results are issued to the appropriate pupils after the papers have been marked and moderated. Hard copies are available on request.
School closure
Should the School be forced to close unexpectedly, such as due to adverse weather conditions, parents will be sent a text message as soon as the decision has been made, and a constantly updated notification will be displayed on the home page of the School website.
