Firework night: Story by Lars

Once upon a time I went to a bonfire and I saw a fantastic firework. It looked like a shooting star and it’s colour was blood red and blue. It was so poppy and it flashed but just then I heard a whistling noise. I went to see what it was but it was a smelly and hot bonfire and it was smoky and spitting.

My mum liked to see another rocket so we went to see the rockets and one was banging. One was sparkling and one was a shooting star. Then I was hungry, so we went to eat some cake and finally we went to my grandma’s house.

Firework night: Story by Abiola

I went to a bonfire. I got lost in the night. I heard a pop and a VOOM! My dad took me to the left of the fire instead of the right. The bonfire went crackle, crackle. The fireworks went pop and voom.

Firework night: Story by Teddy

One day I went to a bonfire night and I heard some whistling from the rockets chasing each other and boomed. It became really colourful. Then I heard some voom-ing sounds and I saw the bonfire. It was scary and hot, as I was just got two steps away. I saw a burning log there in the bonfire, it was crackling.

Setting a story. Form 3 had to write the opening paragraph of a story, setting the scene:

A ghost story, by Taewoo

One day there were four people. They were English people and they were wondering where the hotel was, so they got in a taxi. That taxi went to a wrong hotel but they didn’t notice the hotel as they went in but the hotel was a ghost hotel! When they got in to the hotel they heard a ghost’s sound. They started to shake because they were scared and then they got to the second floor and they saw a person. They talked to the person but he shouted ‘Aaaa!’ and disappeared and the four people went down again and they got into something…

Autumn Poem, by Nicholas

Crunchy leaves fall in the autumn,

Hedgehogs hibernate in the autumn,

Seeds fall and spread in the autumn,

All the colours spread in the autumn,

The candles are lit in the autumn,

Leaves are blown into piles.

I want to do a cannonball in the leaves.

All the leaves fly up in the sky.

Autumn Poem, by Jeevan

I can hear leaves crunch

When I kick them.

I go hunting for conkers.

It’s easy for me

I live next to the chestnut tree.

I go to the common

And sometimes I find sticks

They become my Harry Potter wand.

Autumn Poem, by Victor

I can see the leaves on the trees

I want to see the squirrels

       And the hedgehogs.

I can hear the leaves on the trees rustle.

      Through the window

   I can see trees bustling

      And all the conkers.

    I like Autumn, it’s cool!

Autumn Poem, by Harvir

Outside, I can see

        The Autumn leaves falling down

I can smell

        The old leaves.

I can hear

        Birds singing in a tree.

I can see

The rustling, fluttering leaves at my feet.

I can hear

       The conkers falling down.

I love Autumn sunshine.

Autumn Poem, by Kieran

Outside I can see all the little bugs

Building their nests and scuttling

Through the leaves

The bugs are crawling over rotten logs.

The air smells like wet soil.

Inside I can smell the dinner Mum is cooking.

It is very warm inside the house

And very cold outside.

My Summer Holiday, by George

My holiday was fun. I went to Turkey. In Turkey I stayed in a villa. One night when I came back from dinner we went to the villa and found a scorpion on the floor. We found another scorpion in the door. I killed the two scorpions and took them to England. They are at my house now, so the are safe.

My Summer Holiday, by Orla

My holiday was in the Lake District. My aunt and my papa and gran and me went to a lake with lots of log cabins. We stayed in the cabin for a week. And then went back to my gran’s house. The next day my aunt went back to her house. When my mum just got back she was very tired. And me and my mum went back after a week. I enjoyed everything.
