The Gregg and St Winifred’s PTFA has reformed as 2 sub-groups to concentrate on activities suitable for each school group.
On Monday 31st January 2011, The Gregg School PTFA welcomed a very lively group of helpers to plan the activities for the next 12 months. The first task to re-launch the group was to come up with a name. The St Winifred’s School group will be operating as “Winifriends” led by Lynn Black, and The Gregg School group will be the Friends of The Gregg School - “FROGS” led by Jan Heath.
A whole host of events are planned for 2011 including the following, which will all be held in School:-
A Family Quiz Night on St Patrick’s Day - 17th March
Bluebell Walk and cream tea - 14th May
Cocktails at Sunset - 16th September
Ladies Evening - 13th October
Apple Activity Afternoon - 5th November
We are confident that these activities, led by the FROGS, will be very successful, and hope we can count on the support of all our parents and families to ensure this success. The focus of the events will be lighthearted enjoyment as well as hopefully raising lots of money for the school. Details of the plans for fundraising will follow in the forthcoming weeks.
Tickets for the first event - the Family Quiz Night on the 17th March - will be on sale from 14th February. This will be an ideal opportunity for parents to meet the new “FROGS” team. As it is St Patrick’s day, there will be a subtle Irish Theme to the evening - further details will follow shortly.
We are keen to involve as many parents and students as possible. If anyone would like to help out and attend the next meeting of the FROGS we will be meeting at The Gregg School at 7pm on Monday 7th March.
LOGO competition
To help with publicity of the PTFA, all students are invited to design a FROG logo for us. Entries, which should be A4 size, should be sent to the office for the attention of the FROGS by 7th March. Judging will take place at the next meeting.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
