Emily B: I liked being the red traffic light. I liked my fizzy hair, too. The hair and make-up were cool. Louise: It was very, very scary. I did like it, it was a lot of fun. I do want to do it again, but it was still scary. Seung yeon: Rock Challenge was really good, fantastic. Iwas really scared, but I got over it. I was really excited and I want to do it again next year. Antonia: I really liked it, but it was nerve-wracking before. I was worried that I would be on the wrong side or something. But you just did it when it started. I liked my hair being done. I really enjoyed it. It was very different from rehearsals at school. Simon: It was very exciting, but I was nerve-wracked to start with. I thought everything was going to go wrong, but it didn’t. Sam J: It was really great fun. Before we came I thought it was stupid that we had to be here at eight in the morning, but I was pleased I was here all day.
Ajay: I felt a bit nervous to start with, but then I felt really good at the end. It’s been a good day. Charlotte: I thought it was going to go well and it did. I really enjoyed it and want to do it again. Emily L: It was really good fun. The day was better than I thought it would be. Being on the stage was really exciting. Heard in the foyer afterwards, from one of the parents: It really reflected the ethos of St Winifred’s: fostering the individual. Visit by the University of Southampton Science Department, 26th February Stephen: It was really interesting. There were lots of experiments, like how light can travel through water and how mirrors can go on for ever. The lights were also good. Nada: I liked it. The red water was the best bit. Leena: I liked when they mixed the red and blue and green colours to make white light. Lubna: I liked the mirrors best. I could see myself lots of times at the same time. Norah: I liked looking behind myself in the periscope. Sherie: It was good and fun. We went into a cupboard and counted how many of us there were reflected in the mirrors. There were thousands of me! Lars: It was brilliant. The ball with electricity inside was best. The electricity jumped form person to person. It hurt! Hershila: It was really exciting. The crossword was hard to do, even when the words glowed at the bottom. I won a pen. Jordan: I liked it. The ball which electrocuted you was the best. I liked the way you could block light with prisms. Alex: it was good. I liked the ball, but the way light moved around was good. Neeraj: I liked the infinity mirrors because you could see hundreds of yourself. Annabelle: I liked the water thing where the red and green lights shone through the water. Forms One to Six went to the Central Hall to listen to, and take part in, a concert designed for school children, performed by the Pro Musica Orchestra on 29th January. Emily L: I liked the part where we met all the orchestra and learnt what the instruments are called and what they sound like. Hershila: Some of it was too loud, especially when all the drums and cymbals played together. Some of Old Macdonald was very confusing with all the different parts being sung together. Serena R: I thought it was all good. Simon S: I liked quite a lot of it, especially Old Macdonald and Tubby the Tuba. Ajay: I liked the trumpet. I’ll have to practice lots to be that good. Alice D: It was very interesting. I liked the polka tune the best. Nada: I liked Old Macdonald. I sang a little bit. Sam R: All of it was good. I couldn’t choose a favourite. Arman M: It was good. I thought the shouting part, when we were the bulls, was the best. Serena S: it was fun to watch. I thought the drums were best. The narrator was also great. He told the story. Himani: It was good and loud. I enjoyed the singing and I liked the tympani. Alex: I enjoyed it, except the middle bit, which made me sleepy. Jonathan: I liked when we were clapping in the Hornpipe. Jordan: I liked it when Jonathan, the conductor, was jumping about and clapping. James: I liked the trumpet player the best, but the narrator was fantastic. Mariam: It was a little bit loud, but I enjoyed it. I liked the trumpet player the best. Form 5 Science Lesson at The Gregg School, 17th January Emily: I enjoyed it when they made the rocket fly across the room and when the bubbles went up in flames. Louise: I liked the rocket and when we got to do experiments without the teacher helping us. Serena: It was fun. I liked the flaming bubbles on Mr Hatherell’s hand the best. Hershila: It was really great. The best things were the burning gas bubbles and the bottle they popped to make the rocket. Sam W: It was really good and I cooked some liver and the best part was when we made the rocket. Ajay: I liked it when we lit the gas and when we blew on the stick until it glowed and relit it in the oxygen we made. Nick: Excellent! Fascinating. I loved it when we made rocket fuel and blasted the rocket. I also enjoyed making the gas and putting my thumb on it. I enjoyed all of it really Comments for the website about whole school trip to see ‘Peter Pan’ at the Nuffield Theatre, 10th January, 2008 Lubna: It was good. I understood a bit of it. I liked the clothes and the lights. Leena: I liked it. The singing was good and Peter was good. It was a good afternoon. Nathalia: It was very good. Tinkerbelle was cheeky. It was very, very funny, especially when Captain Hook went inside the crocodile. (He didn’t really go in.) Ali: I enjoyed it. I liked Peter best, but I also liked Captain Hook because he had a hook. He was frightened of the crocodile but I wasn’t. Sunny: I enjoyed the pantomime, especially the swimming in the water. I liked the songs and lights and things. Mariyah: It was funny. I liked the bright lights and colours and the pirates when they squirted water. I got wet! I also liked the duck on her nest. Fawaz: I enjoyed it. It made me laugh. Captain Hook frightened me. I didn’t boo at him. It was a good afternoon. Millie: I liked when the pirates squirted water. I liked the whole show. I didn’t cry even when the pirates came on. Alexander: I liked it. The pirates were good. It made me laugh when Captain Hook died. I thought Peter was good, but he didn’t really fly, it was done with bits of string. Heard on the coach: I won’t be frightened. I’m four.
