The Orchard

In terms of the history of the site the Orchard is a relatively new addition - perhaps planted in the 1960s (to be verified)
Banding will be added to the trees to improve fruit quality in future.
Work is underway to formally identify the different varieties in the Orchard but initial indications are that there are:
- Bramley
- Howgate Wonder - a cooking apple developed on the Isle of Wight in 1915. Usually a big apple making a lot of juice
- Old Cox's Orange
- Worcester Pearmain
- Ellison's Orange
