As well as our own two indoor hall spaces and playground, the school takes advantage of Southampton’s many sporting facilities. Weekly games, swimming and gym sessions with qualified staff are provided, as well as a variety of after school sports activities. St. Winifred’s also gives its upper school pupils speech training for the Trinity College Effective Communication examinations. Each year many pupils achieve distinctions and merits but, most importantly, all gain much personal satisfaction and confidence from the experience. Further opportunities are provided, through extra-curricular activities, to develop pupils’ individual talents and personal strengths and interests. Individual and group achievement is recognised and appreciated by the whole school and children are encouraged to learn their own self-worth.
Potential pupils are very welcome to spend a ‘taster’ day with their prospective class, to allow them to form some impression of the school. If you would like to know more about St Winifred’s, please telephone the school, or visit our web-site. We will be happy to meet you to discuss your child’s future and show you the school in action.
